Lieutenant Colonel Shyam Sunder Sharma is a War wounded veteran, with over twenty-two years of distinguished service in the Indian Army, post-release from the Army he has been in the corporate sector for the past seven years. Shyam had an early childhood in Nigeria, did his schooling at The Daly College, Indore and has served all over India especially the border areas and in the United Nations Military Mission in Somalia. Shyam holds a Bachelors of Arts Honours in English from Delhi University, a Masters in English from Agra University and MBA in Human Resources Development from Symbiosis. Single parent to two daughters and two dogs and a cat. Shyam is settled in Greater Noida. He is an avid poet, birdwatcher and nature lover. Published in numerous anthologies, magazines and e-zines in India and abroad, some of these are A New Ulster X, The first cut, Duane’s PoeTree, Atunis poetry and Poetry in the Park Collection No 3 - A poetry collective in Athlone, Ireland, Camel Saloon and Mad Swirl of USA, Hans, Hans, Lakeview Journal, Earthen lamp journal and Episteme in India, Keystone, Barrel of Monkeys and Poems to Keep, England (UK), Rizal Journal, Philippines and more. As an editor, he has successfully published four International Poetry anthologies in the last two years and one Non-fiction book. Shyam was a Guest Poet at Fermoy International Poetry Festival at Ireland in August 2013 and the event coordinator of the Delhi Poetry Festival 2014. Shyam has been on the Judges and advisory panel for Creative Writing at National Balashree awards, organised under the HRD ministry, Government of India and also frequently Judges poetry contests and Creative Writing in a number of colleges and schools in NCR. He runs a vibrant group Poets, Artists Unplugged on Facebook.
